some like it hot

I was heating up some fairly bland vegetarian chili for lunch, to use up the leftover rice from dinner last night, and I decided I'd spice it up a little with a sprinkling of ground piquin chili peppers.

The grinding attachment wasn't on as tightly as I thought it was, and the entire jar of dried peppers up-ended into the saucepan.

I think I picked most of them out. Now the question is, how brave am I?

Or, how stupid?

update: It turned out to be a pleasant level of heat. I only missed two pieces of dried hot pepper. And yes, I found out the hard way.
