quiet weekend
Monday, January 7th, 2002 08:56 amIt was a very domesticated sort of weekend. I worked on the big fluffy blanket I'm crocheting (the colours are brighter in RL than in the photo), Matt cooked some great meals (including a thai curry last night) and helped me untangle yarn, and we generally cleaned house a bit. Yesterday morning I fucked with my computer and it punished me for it, but all has been put back together, and safe to say I learned my lesson.
Not too exciting, I know, but we were both a little run-down and some quiet time was good. (my voice is back, btw)
We watched silly campy repressed homoerotic 50's sci-fi (Robinson Crusoe on Mars - classic stuff!), followed by the (original) Batman movie (mmmm, cheesy), and later a frustrating X-Files episode that had me yelling insults at the screen, but was worth it for 40 minutes of Gillian's beautiful face.
I have part 1 of Gormenghast at home, but will wait on it till part 2 arrives later this week.
And I think we might almost be sorted for a whitby cottage. I'm on pins and needles now, as I've written the agent with our desire to book the flat, and am hoping no one beat me to it in the hour between them telling me it was available and me writing back that I want it. I wouldn't normally worry, but I see the agency's URL has been posted to UPG and Sluts this morning. I'm hoping I didn't get edged out. Full details once it's solidly booked. I'll also want to rant about the chilly reception I received from the agency that was so nice to me last year.
Oh well... Should probably get back to work on my report. Nearly done!
